During the pandemic time our interconnected modern world has learned culture's power to bring people together and kept them motivated. Diversity of culture, traditional practices and various art forms enrich our everyday lives in many ways. To preserve art and culture for coming generation Storytelling, Exhibitions, Art Galleries, Fairs, Seminars, Live performances, Knowledge sharing, tour to Museums and cultural heritage sites are plays very important role.

 

Keeping in view of all the above points, Syna International School in association with the British Council organized activities for the learners of middle school. In one of the activity students studied the similarities and differences of arts and culture in India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia to inculcate the values art and culture and it helped to broadening the perspective of the world view of the learners.

In this activity three groups were formed and the learners of each group collected the information on art and cultures of India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia through magazine, newspaper and Internet and discussed the similarities and the differences in the class. And a session of Group Discussion was organized.


Activity was begin with group discussion and Students of class VI, VII and VIII were involved.

Topic - Differences and similarity between the art & culture of India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia.

Due to Pandemic this activity organized on online platform with the help of Google Classroom. Students participated done their best in this activity are: From VI class (Country INDIA)  Shaurya kumar, Shanvi yadav, Shreya Tiwari, Rishabh Tiwari, Fredrick Symons, Jagjyot Lamba. From class VII ( Country SRI LANKA) Chinmay Rajak, Aprajit Dwivedi, Kritika Kapoor, Parth Chakrawarti, SArena  Dodwani, Shubhnavi Rathore. From class VII ( Country MALASIYA) Aarya Tiwari, Anvi Singh, Aashika Lal, Anubhav Tiwari, Liza Biswas, Sara Tirthani, Snehshish Ahuja, Tanmay Tharwani, Astha Tiwari

                   


In collage making activity learners were divided into three groups India, Sri Lanka & Malaysia and a competition was organized. Students collected the pictures of traditional paintings, dance forms, music and architecture of the mentioned countries. And made collage out of the collected pictures. Later they did power point presentation with the help of collected information.

Again due to Pandemic this activity was conducted as online season.

Topic – Art and Culture of India, Sri Lanka and Malasiya.

Students who participated in this activity and done their best are - Class VI (Country INDIA) Shaurya kumar, Shanvi yadav. Class VII (SRILANKA) Chinmay Rajak, Aprajit Dwivedi, Kritika Kapoor, Sarena  Dodwani. Class VIII (MALAYSIA) Aarya Tiwari, Anvi Singh, Aashika Lal, Sara Tirthani, Snehshish Ahuja, Ishan Uppadhay, Astha Tiwari

 

To make them learn the very important part of the culture of these country students did Dance Performance: They learned the steps of Indian, Malaysian and Sri Lankan folk dances and presented the dance forms. Later a video of the dance form were shown in an online class.

                      

 

Name of the students participated in this activity- 1.      Shaurya Kumar ( Presenting INDIA - BHANGRA) 2.      Kritika  Kapoor ( Presenting SRI LANKA - KATHAKALI) 3.      Chinmay Rajak  ( Presenting MALASIYA- KOODIYATTAM) 

 -  More students can be the part of all the activities but due to Pandemic many of the student’s family was facing infection and under the treatment therefore we faced difficulty to arrange it on the same platform.

 

After the completion of these activities the learners prepared a set of questionnaire which was based on the activities done and circulated online among the teachers and the students to get their feedback.
